The author was born May 19, 1950 in Ogdensburg, NY, the third child of Reverend Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Charles Barton. In 1970 he graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy, and on June 27 of the same year married his high school sweetheart, Kristine M. Drummond. They are the proud parents of two wonderful children: Heather, born December 8, 1971- and Bryan, born July 18, 1977. In August 1971 the author joined U.S.N. as an Aviation Structural Mechanic and served aboard Aircraft Carrier Saratoga CVA-60 in Vietnam. In 1983 he converted to a Mechanical Calibration Technician serving in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and on USS Fulton in New London, CT. On July 31, 1991 he retired from Groton, CT Naval Submarine Base, then moved back to Ogdensburg. In 1992 he attended Mater Dei College, graduating with an AAS degree in Optometry. In August 1996 he moved his family to Phoenix, AZ. The September 11, 2001 incident prompted him to write poems of the events, and he continues to write poems on all subject matter from life affirmations to current events.
